Since 2012 it annually makes a stop in Austria, this year it takes place at the historic site of the Harness Racing Track Club Krieau for the very first time: The Longines Global Champions Tour. From the 15^th to the 18^th of September 2016 the local area becomes the centre of attention of the equestrian tournament world and meeting point of the equestrian sports’ elite.

Horse meets City

Mid-September, for no less than four days the top 30 of the world rankings of the equestrian sports compete with one another at the Viennese Krieau.

Beside show jumping tests of the 5-star-category as well as 4-star-category dressage tests, trotting races with professionals as well as VIP-guests will be held. In addition, there will be numerous exciting show acts, appearances of international Working Education stars for example.

This superlative event turns Vienna into the real centre of attention of the equestrian sports scene worldwide. The Vienna Masters Festival is considered the most important equestrian sports event held in Austria and represents the penultimate of the 15 stops of the Longines Global Champions Tour.

Among all the equestrian tournaments and tests the whole programme of the Vienna Masters Festival really makes the hearts of horse lovers from all across the world flutter: An enormous number of exhibitors offers all sorts of new as well as already well-tried goods for all kinds of rider- or horse-related issues, whereas the gastronomy zone lures with loads of delicious delicacies.

On Thursday will be the so-called “Family Day”, where the popular Horse Festival for children experiences a revival and loads of horse-related activities – like Mini-rodeo or Shows with the popular ORF stars Robert Steiner and Rolf Rüdiger – invite the visitors to participate.

Concerning the tickets and prices, some changes had been made in contrast to last year: Whereas the tickets for the spectators on the covered stands are available a little bit cheaper this year, “Stroll-around”-tickets will be sold for the very first time, which enable their owners to access all areas but the stands.

Starting at the Hotel Zipser, you reach the Harness Racing Track Club Krieau quite quickly. Only a stone’s throw away from the hotel you’ll find the underground station “Rathaus” of the underground line “U2”, which you go by until you reach the station “Krieau”. After only a 5-minute walk you’ll be able to experience and enjoy the equestrian sports event “Vienna Masters 2016”.
