FAIR FOR ART Vienna
Horst Szaal, President of the VÖAK and fair organizer: “Some of Austria’s best gallery owners as well as renowned guest exhibitors from Germany and Spain are presenting a particularly high-caliber program this year. In addition to a very interesting special exhibition, numerous major works by important Austrian artists of the 20th and 21st centuries that have never been shown before will be on display. Visitors will also be able to acquire some highlights from the field of 19th and 20th century fine art, including exclusive jewelry and design objects.”
With its three exhibition levels, the Aula der Wissenschaften, an architectural jewel just a few minutes’ walk from Stephansplatz, provides the perfect setting for more than 2,000 works by over 300 artists.
Greats such as Helmut Ditsch, Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol meet Austrian art icons such as Gottfried Helnwein, Wolfgang Hollegha, Hermann Nitsch, Hubert Scheibl and Hans Staudacher. Also on display are works by globally renowned contemporary African artists. The increasing demand for contemporary sculptures is reflected in a large number of unique sculptures by well-known artists such as Joannis Avramidis, Wander Bertoni, Roland Goeschl, Marcello Morandini, Thomas Stimm, Frank Teufel and Sabine Wiedenhofer.
