Vienna Icedream 2011

The fabulously illuminated façade of Vienna’s City Hall is the backdrop for Vienna Ice Dream, a 5,600 square-meter outdoor ice skating rink. Every day from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. wildly groovy and sweepingly elegant loops can be cut to disco hits of the 1980s and 1990s.

A 600 metre-long dream path leads through the fairytale illuminations at City Hall Park, where four curling lanes await. In a large heated marquee with a glazed lounge area, nine gastronomes pamper guests with Tyrolean Gröstl, farmhouse bread, crispy waffles, Käsespätzle and baked potatoes. Warming drinks are also available, of course, from aromatic punch to hot tea. Skates can be hired on site.
