No sooner is the Life Ball over than the next big event is around the corner in Vienna: The Eurovision Song Contest. During the next six days the whole of Europe will have its eyes fixed on Vienna, and are waiting with bated breath for the outcome – who will win the Song Contest? The betting shops have already chosen their favourites: Sweden, Italy, Australia, Estonia, Russia, Finland, Slovenia, Norway, Azerbaijan and Israel.

In exactly this sequence the contest is expected to end – whether this will really be the case, we shall know by Saturday evening. Until then Vienna will run wild. It already started on Monday with the Theme Day “60 Years ESC” which had its climax in the evening with the “Fashion for Europe” show and the The Bad Powells live at the Eurovision Village in the Rathausplatz.

On Tuesday all those who couldn’t’t obtain any tickets for the live shows can experience the first semi-final at the Public Viewing in the Rathausplatz. Apart from this, various live performances will be taking place there during the whole day.

On Wednesday Udo Jürgen will be honoured by Vienna and Eurovision. This exceptional artist who won the Song Contest 1966 for Austria with “Merci, Cherie” has a special place in the hearts of Austrians – on this day his life and work will be shown both on ORF / ZDF and at the Public Viewing.

On Thursday there will be many live acts again, and in the evening the exciting second semi-final. Apart from that, numerous events in Vienna will whet your appetite for the Final on Saturday.

Friday will be dominated by Conchita. At the Public Viewing TV-Documentaries will be shown, a Look-Alike-Contest will take place, and in the evening the premiere of Conchita’s “Unstoppable” will be shown live on ORF1 – of course for all to see at the Public Viewing.

Then on Saturday off to the Final! All those who were able to snatch a ticket will experience this evening in the Wiener Stadthalle (Viennese Town Hall). Whoever went without a ticket can still experience everything with many others in the Rathausplatz, and cheer along, or watch the show on TV.

Who will be the winner of the Song-Contest 2015? We are curious. It will certainly be one of the 40 stars who will make their entrance in Vienna.
